homeshopeventsvideoINSTANT OFF®, Inc. President Steve Gordon, who testified earlier this year in Congress before the U.S. House Committee on Small Business, is seeking a $250,000 Pepsi Refresh Project Grant for his “Life Needs Water Conservation – Education Program.”His water conservation company (founded in 1991), manufactures INSTANT-OFF water conservation devices for faucets and is competing with 1,000 other applicants to win grants from the Pepsi Refresh Project. Gordon wants to install his INSTANT-OFF® on faucets in 200 public schools and have the schools use the money saved to purchase new, desperately needed computers or other supplies. Gordon says, “Our Life Needs Water’ education program will teach elementary and middle school students the importance of water conservation using a motivating video, water conservation flash cards and a puzzle board game that rewards the winners with prizes.” Goals for the ‘Life Needs Water’ grant include: 1) Install the INSTANT-OFF® on every faucet in 200 elementary and middle schools in the drought states of Florida, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, California and Hawaii; 2) Save each school a minimum of 500,000 gallons of water per year; 3) Use the money saved on water to purchase new computers for the schools; 4) Reduce the spread of germs among students by using INSTANT-OFF to avoid touching faucet handles when washing hands;5) Educate 200,000 students about the importance of water conservation; 6) Successfully achieve all goals so that this pilot program can be implemented in every school nationwide. Only two projects a month win the $250,000 grant and INSTANT-OFF is in a public voting contest through November 30 to achieve its goal, Gordon feels that his “Life Needs Water” program is the best project competing for the grant because it helps the environment and schools. Steve Gordon, the President of INSTANT-OFF, INC. is proud of the dollar value his LIFE NEEDS WATER Conservation- Education Program delivers because at a cost of only $1.25 per student the schools will conserve 100 million gallons of water and save $150,000 each year that they can reinvest back into the schools.“We need the public’s help to win this grant,” he emphasizes. “I am asking everyone who cares about the environment or has children in schools to tell everyone 13 years or older they know to go to the Pepsi Refresh Project and vote for the ‘Life Needs Water’ program for schools.
